I used 2 separate digi images. The first being Birthday Cupcake and the second Birthday Medley. I love how these images can be so easily cropped and adjusted to different needs. The papers were by The Paper Studio "Birthday extravaganza" and they have lots of bling. It was easy to match up my Copics to match these great colors. After coloring I highlighted the digi image with my glitter pen to add some "glitz" to the image and pull it all together with the glitter paper.

I've been wanting to try this technique, and this was the perfect opportunity to try it because of all the great digi downloads I found at Squigglefly, and it is a project great with plain or patterned paper. There are many circular-type digis like this one at the Squigglefly Store, so you'll have lots of fun picking out different ones and making an array of ornaments or wall hangings or whatever your mind can conjure up. I made this ornament by using a scoreboard. I know there are several companies out there that make these boards. I started with an original Scor-Pal with 1/4 inch scores, but things have progressed since then, and I have now upgraded to the Martha Stewart Scoreboard with 1/8 inch scores, which gives me so many more options.

This is made by cutting 2 strips of 12"cardstock whatever width you want. Just remember that when you're finished, it will be double that height when arranged into a circle so keep that in mind when designing. I then used a punch along the long edge all the way down one side of the both strips. The next step was to score the strips horizontally. Your scores will go from the unpunched top of the edge of the strip to the punched edge of the strip every 1/4". Once both strips are scored, attach them to each other with adhesive to make one long strip and start folding the scores marks into a fan shape. When I was done with that, on the unpunched edge of the strip I added adhesive to the front and back of that edge and started folding (which helped keep it together) until I ended up with a circular shape as shown and attach where the ends meet to create a circle. To keep it flat and in place I added I a large circle (smaller than my image) that I ran through my Xyron. I added these circles in the center on the front and back of the circle to hold it in place temporarily until I added the colored image. I prefer adhesive to glue as it holds quicker and better and isn't as messy. After coloring the stamped digi, I cut it out and added ribbon pleats to the back. I used adhesive on the ribbon to hold it as I attached the ribbon pleats to the back of the colored image. The last step was to adhere the stamped image circle to the the scored circle fan and attach a ribbon hanger on the top. This was a lot of fun and would be great fun to do with kids too. You can decorate both sides, which makes them great for window decorations or ornaments. I love to accent mine with a glitter pen to give it a little bit of bling.

There's a really cute hot chocolate digi at Squigglefly that would be adorable on a cellophane baggie filled with hot cocoa fixings and one of this fans with that digi stamp. The possibilities are endless. Wishing you much Scrappiness!
So, I thought it would be nice to thank them for their generosity with more than a verbal thank you, and so I created this fun card using the Hambo mummy printable image. The background paper is embossed and glittered adding to the fun of the design. Enjoy!

This card was made for someone special to brighten their day. The fall colors are so warm and inviting and matched perfectly with the Cloud9Design pattern paper named Sparkle Fester N.Rott, Happy Halloween... what a crazy name! The stamps are Hampton Arts "Autumn is in the Air," and I colored the stamps with Copics. For the "thinking of YOU" stamp I used a Stampin' Up Pumpkin Ink pad.

This fun tag was done for the Scrapbook Place's Design Team. I found this really neat fabric at Hobby Lobby and thought how fun it would be to use it as a background for this scary Halloween Tag.

Fall is in the air and it got me to be thinking about Halloween and that's what inspired me to decide upon the style for this tag. I decided to get out my new Inky Antics Cupcake Birdy HoneyPOP set and, of course, some of the new HoneyPOP paper. I used Bazzill Copic-friendly white cardstock for the card and Basic Grey Lemonade 6 x 6 Paper pad for trimming up the card.

I always use Momento Tuxedo Black ink when I use my Copics. Just a reminder that the Copic inks do bleed through the cardstock and that's why I used the paper on the inside and outside of the card and I think it adds a cute touch too. If you want to use colored pencils, they shouldn't bleed through. When stamping the image on the HoneyPOP paper, remember to look at the arrow stamped on it so you stamp your image in the right direction so the paper will open correctly for you in the card. You'll need to cut out the HoneyPOP paper before you stamp the images on the card because you will need the HoneyPOP pieces to judge the placement of the large cherry that goes on top of the cupcake.

Copic Colors:

Cherries - RV17, RV19
Birdie - B00, B01, B02, Y17, RV17
Shadow of Bird - C1
Stems, Leaves - G21, G24

HoneyPOP papers were in Pink and Brown and applied with glue stick.

When you work with HoneyPOP papers, you also need to score the center seam of the card with about an 1/8" channel for the thickness of the HoneyPOP paper, otherwise, you'll find the card too bulky and it won't lay flat for you when closed.

Here's the finished product with the HoneyPOP paper! I used Memento black ink with the following Copics:

Fish and Balloon Y21, Y17
Fish Bowl B00, B01, B02, CO1

The blue polka dot paper is Stampin' Up Pattern 6 x 6 paper pack. I also used grey and yellow card stock. On the yellow cardstock I used the little dot stamp from the SU "Delight in Life" stamp set with aqua and blue ink and then I edged it with the SU scalloped edge punch. Love Tim Holtz Tissue Tape (Nostalgic) so I added a strip of that and then topped it off with some Twinery Twine which is becoming a new favorite of mine.

To finish it off I added a Prima E line polka dot flower and a polka dot glazed brad from BG Parisiennes. Loved the coordination of the dots and I couldn't believe I had all this on hand... I love when that happens.

Karen Ghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06583034185806282959noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6531638705774706523.post-67327934431743542982011-05-14T14:53:00.003-05:002011-05-14T15:00:37.834-05:00
My first Stamping Bella card with my new Ketto stamp. These stamps are made in Quebec, Canada, and I absolutely love them and the detail they have. I made this card for my niece who is studying dance at Ball State. She lives to dance so I thought it was only appropriate for this special birthday card for her.

Archiver's recently started carrying these stamps. I was a little surprised because I didn't realize they weren't cling stamps when I purchased them, but I solved the problem. I used a little temporary adhesive on the back of the stamp, placed it on the mounting block and stamped away.

I used my Copics and of course I had to add some bling. It was very fun.
Hope you like it.

Karen Ghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06583034185806282959noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6531638705774706523.post-61957454237359021832009-06-04T15:30:00.022-05:002011-01-28T22:21:23.490-06:00Disney Magic - Western Cruise May 30, 2009This year to celebrate our 26th Anniversary and Brian's Graduation from Jr. High School we decided to take 7-day Disney Cruise. I've added some new graphics and even a digi header I created myself with supplies from www.shabbyprincess.com. My friend Teresa guided me to their website, and I fell in love with so many of their digi sets. It's definitely somewhere I'll return to for digi supplies.

So if you have a minute, please comment and let me know what you think of my new look.

Wishing you much scrappiness. He made a pop up inside the card. I didn't photograph the inside since he already signed it and I didn't want to spoil the surprise message before they receive it.

It was fun to watch him as his creativity flowed--He has quite the eye for balance. He embossed the bottom heart with a white sparkle embossing powder and cut the top heart apart and then used a needle tool to simulate stitching on the cut line. All the hearts were hand cut.

I'm hoping that we will be creating lots of cards together in the future.Karen Ghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06583034185806282959noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6531638705774706523.post-72397335575989641012009-01-27T19:26:00.005-06:002009-02-07T20:14:20.347-06:00Bear Hugs To You!!!I created this card for a challenge at Paper Craft Planet. It was a wonderful ceremony and he is a wonderful scout, so I knew I wanted a special card for him.

I created this card with Ranger Alcohol inks and this great stamp by Stampers Anonymous. The alcohol inks are great for coloring anything that is metal too to create matching brads and accents. Hope you enjoy this and it inspires you to try alcohol inks. The background papers are Dream Street--nice heavy 2-sided papers.

Karen Ghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06583034185806282959noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6531638705774706523.post-49668823514692140402009-01-11T18:21:00.004-06:002009-02-07T20:15:27.931-06:00Giving is Better than Receiving
Check out i{heart}2stamp's blog - She's doing something wonderful and you can get involved easily and maybe even win something for yourself.

But remember, giving is better than receiving. I found MonicasPassions and her directions for a spinning card. I just had to try this and they are so much fun. When you turn the card 90 degree, the little snowman spins and tumbles down the slot in the card. Monica gives you detailed directions for this with great visuals so check it out if you'd like to create a card like this.

The snowman stamp is part of the Stampin' Up - Holiday Tag Team set watercolored with a waterbrush and the following ink pads from Stampin' Up - Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Red Riding Hood, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze.
