Thinking of You!

Fall's cooler weather puts me in the mood for cardmaking, all those warm autumn hues and the crisp air.  This card was made for someone special to brighten their day.  The fall colors are so warm and inviting and matched perfectly with the Cloud9Design pattern paper named Sparkle Fester N.Rott, Happy Halloween... what a crazy name!  The stamps are Hampton Arts "Autumn is in the Air," and I colored the stamps with Copics.  For the "thinking of YOU" stamp I used a Stampin' Up Pumpkin Ink pad.

Standing Tag Challenge

This fun tag was done for the Scrapbook Place's Design Team.  I found this really neat fabric at Hobby Lobby and thought how fun it would be to use it as a background for this scary Halloween Tag.  If you click on the above photo it will open the photo large and with more detail so you'll be able to see the neat texture of the fabric. 

Fall is in the air and it got me to be thinking about Halloween and that's what inspired me to decide upon the style for this tag.  The tag was cut by hand and scored.

Then I cut the fabric to match the shape and adhered it to the cardstock tag I had created.

On my Cricut I cut out the letters BOO! and then used the Stampin' Up dotted texture plate to give the letters a bit more texture.  I used black ink lightly over the dots to pick up the texture and then adhered the letters to the tag.

I finished it off with some fun 3-D stickers I picked up at Target today and some scary spooky eye brads (how fun!) and that finished off this fun and easy project.  Thanks for viewing it and hope it inspires you.

Design Team Challenge & Blog Candy!

This is my first attempt at ATCs (artist trading cards), and I had so much fun with these. This challenge allowed me to let my creativity flow freely to come up with several new and original mini pieces of art.

Scrapbook Place 3D Challenge

This week's Design Team Challenge from the Scrapbook Place was to create a 3D item of your choice. I decided to get out my new Inky Antics Cupcake Birdy HoneyPOP set and, of course, some of the new HoneyPOP paper. I used Bazzill Copic-friendly white cardstock for the card and Basic Grey Lemonade 6 x 6 Paper pad for trimming up the card.

I always use Momento Tuxedo Black ink when I use my Copics. Just a reminder that the Copic inks do bleed through the cardstock and that's why I used the paper on the inside and outside of the card and I think it adds a cute touch too. If you want to use colored pencils, they shouldn't bleed through. When stamping the image on the HoneyPOP paper, remember to look at the arrow stamped on it so you stamp your image in the right direction so the paper will open correctly for you in the card. You'll need to cut out the HoneyPOP paper before you stamp the images on the card because you will need the HoneyPOP pieces to judge the placement of the large cherry that goes on top of the cupcake.

Cherries - RV17, RV19
Birdie - B00, B01, B02, Y17, RV17
Shadow of Bird - C1
Stems, Leaves - G21, G24

HoneyPOP papers were in Pink and Brown and applied with glue stick.

When you work with HoneyPOP papers, you also need to score the center seam of the card with about an 1/8" channel for the thickness of the HoneyPOP paper, otherwise, you'll find the card too bulky and it won't lay flat for you when closed.

Patriotic Challenge

This card was created for the Scrapbook Place on Yahoo Groups board. I have friend who is lucky enough to celebrate her birthday on July 4th with fireworks and all every year. This is the first time I used Twinery on a card and I must say I really like the product. Lots of fun uses. Visit the ScrapbookPlace Blog to see the other Design Team challenges and create your own.

Little Birthday Hello!

Birthday Hello!

This card went together quickly thanks to my Stampin' Up set "Little Hellos." I used Memento black ink with the following Copics:

Fish and Balloon Y21, Y17
Fish Bowl B00, B01, B02, CO1

The blue polka dot paper is Stampin' Up Pattern 6 x 6 paper pack. I also used grey and yellow card stock. On the yellow cardstock I used the little dot stamp from the SU "Delight in Life" stamp set with aqua and blue ink and then I edged it with the SU scalloped edge punch. Love Tim Holtz Tissue Tape (Nostalgic) so I added a strip of that and then topped it off with some Twinery Twine which is becoming a new favorite of mine.

To finish it off I added a Prima E line polka dot flower and a polka dot glazed brad from BG Parisiennes. Loved the coordination of the dots and I couldn't believe I had all this on hand... I love when that happens.

My first Stamping Bella card with my new Ketto stamp. These stamps are made in Quebec, Canada, and I absolutely love them and the detail they have. I made this card for my niece who is studying dance at Ball State. She lives to dance so I thought it was only appropriate for this special birthday card for her.

Archiver's recently started carrying these stamps. I was a little surprised because I didn't realize they weren't cling stamps when I purchased them, but I solved the problem. I used a little temporary adhesive on the back of the stamp, placed it on the mounting block and stamped away.

I used my Copics and of course I had to add some bling. It was very fun.
